NEXT MEETING - DECEMBER 9

The next meeting will be our Annual Christmas Party. We will be meeting in The Cafe at Sycamore Elementary at 6:30pm. Each girl should bring a $10 gift for the gift exchange. We will once again circulate the presents to Christmas music. Once the music stops, the girls keep the present currently in their possession, unless it's the one they brought.

Below is the list of what each mom is contributing to the party:

Julie - Party products
Jody - Pizza
Michelle - Salad
Stephanie - Drinks
Pam - Dessert

In addition to the gift exchange between the girls, we will be working on our community project. As part of our community project, we have teamed up with Sheltering Wings again to provide Christmas gifts for the children. The children they house range in age from 6 weeks to 14 years. We do not know how many children, the ages or sex, so make sure all items are suitable for a boy or girl.

FIELD TRIP - State Museum - 1P - 4P

On My Honor: Girl Scouts Since 1912

Girl Scouting builds girls of courage, confidence and character, who make the world a better place. Relive your own Girl Scout days, through hundreds of artifacts, vintage uniforms, and photos. Gather in a recreated campsite, page through scrapbooks and have fun with friends as you attend an imaginary meeting. Special patches for participation are available.

From historic artifacts dating back to 1917 to a common recreated camp scene area where visitors can experience a simulated fire for sing-a-longs, the museum’s exhibition tries to capture the essence of being a Girl Scout.

Special programming related to scouting activities and badges are also featured. In addition, the exhibit addresses the contemporary goals of the scouts which encourage girls to 1)develop self-potential, 2)relate to others, 3)develop values and 4)contribute to society while also tracing the history of scouting and the changing attitudes about women’s roles, competencies and responsibilities.

The sleepover was a success! The girls worked on their Point, Click and Go badge. They created a story and an invitation. I will e-mail those out separate. They did a great job. Julie and I also got an English lesson in the process.
